Home Icon School Planning Advisory Committee (SPAC)

The Alachua County Commission is looking for applicants interested in serving as community members on the School Planning Advisory Committee (“SPAC”). The SPAC is established by the Alachua County Public Schools in accordance with the Interlocal Agreement for Public School Facility Planning. The purpose of the committee according the Interlocal Agreement is to review potential sites for new schools, proposals for significant school expansions and potential closure of existing schools. The committee will submit recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools. The Committee meets on most Friday mornings from 10 AM to noon at the School Board’s Fred Sivia Tech Support Center, 3700 NE 53 Avenue. Mike Castine, Planner, Department of Growth Management, is the Alachua County staff representative.
